Arthur Lain
Mr. Arthur Lain, born Jan. 2, 1931, passed away peacefully on March 23 in Phoenix.
Art is survived by his children, Laura L. Brown, Vickie L. (Pilar) Lechuga, Arthur L.(Vicky) Lain III, Sheryl L. (Jack) Lain-Young, Garrie L. (Ronda) Lain, Daniel L (Nancy) Lain, and Tammy L. Hartley. He is preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley M. (Lain) Sinz, his daughter, Melinda Lee Lain Avelar; and, most recently, in Feb., by his daughter Nancy L. (Lain) Ladd.
Among his survivors are 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Art led an interesting life moving from Illinois to Iowa, then later Arizona, California, Texas and back to Arizona. He moved to Kearny in 1969 and continued to serve the Copper Basin area mining industry for many years, before retiring and living in Glendale. He learned to weld from his father – a legacy passed down by his grandfather – and spent a lifetime in the industry.
