On behalf of the Arizona Elks Major Projects, Kearny Lodge #2478 earlier this month received a $1,000 Community Rewards Program Grant for Kids. The grant will go to the Kearny Little League under the direction of Kari Ramsey and American Youth Soccer under the direction of Amanda Kelley (not present). Each group received a $500 check that will be used for needed items. Delma Turnbill, East District AEMP Chairman from Mesa, presented the check.

“We look at the areas and the resources they have and see how our money can help the community,” Turnbill told Copper Basin News. “It’s all about what we can do to help the kids.” The Arizona Elks Major Projects contributes $250,000 to various communities in Arizona every year. In addition, they offer a youth camp for organized groups.

The Kearny Little League is excited to get this grant, and cannot wait to put this well-deserved money into good use.
