Angie R. Lechuga, 61 of Silver City, N.M., passed away on June 25, 2016 in Kearny, AZ surrounded by family and loved ones after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 29, 1954 in Ray, AZ to Adolfo and Elvira Lechuga. She is preceded in death by parents Adolfo and Elvira Lechuga, and nephew-godson, Anthony Carrillo.
Angie graduated from Ray High School in 1974 where she was an outstanding athlete; she graduated from Western New Mexico University. She worked for Head Start of Silver City as education coordinator for 30 years and as of late at the Freeport Tyrone Mine. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, very rarely missing a game, she even made a trip to Cowboy stadium.
Angie is survived by her sister, Tina (Manny) of Kearny; and her brothers, Adolfo Jr. (Katy) of Kearny and Pilar (Vickie) of Kearny; and her long life friend, Lorraine Alvarado of Silver City, NM; along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
Her services will be held in Kearny at the Infant of Prague Parish on Friday, July 1. The viewing will be at 8:30 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Kearny Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Silver City N.M. on July 9.
