The Superior Optimist Club has announced their plans for the 10th Annual Miracle on Main St. parade and festival. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. Festivities will begin at 3 p.m. on Main St. with the parade starting promptly at 7 p.m. This year the theme for the parade is “A Christmas to Remember.”
Final event details are being confirmed but the club is looking for groups, families and businesses to enter the parade. Prizes are $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place. Any local groups wishing to host a fundraising booth are also welcome to participate.
“We really hope that many groups come out and participate this year, the theme for the parade provides lot’s of opportunities for floats and parade entries,” explained Optimist President JoAnn Besich.
The club is also seeking sponsors to help defray costs for the event. Following the parade Santa arrives with lots of goodies for the boys and girls of Superior. Each year the club provides 300 goody bags to the kids who visit Santa.
